About the design
In 2017 the Orica Scott team changed the kit from previous years by eradicating the use of panels of white in the design. The kit is now predominantly dark blue with yellow detail touches and the sponsors in mostly white lettering.
This kit does not feel designed as such due to its simplicity. The style is reminiscent of Movistar in dark blue main colour, detail colour used sparingly and sponsors rendered in white, which stands out well against the blue background colour. This simplicity works well in terms of giving the sponsors a prominent and easily viewable location on the kit.
The yellow colour background behind one of the main sponsors, Scott, across the chest is carried on up the inside of the right sleeve and down the side of the jersey. This is an interesting and non symetrical detail to the design.
The previous iterations using the white shoulder and chest background colour probably made the kit more comfortable in European summer temperatures but the all blue is strong.
The kit is supplied by Giordanna who are a well established Italian apparel manufacturer
At Road Bike Kit we like the latest iteration of the Orica Scott kit but we would have liked to have seen the colour palette carried on into the bike frame. It would have good to have the bike frame be the dark blue instead of black.
