About the design

For the 2014 season of the Orica Greenedge team the kit was a slightly more simplified affair. The base for the jersey was still white but for this season it was split into two distinct colour portions. The bottom half of the jersey was a solid panel of dark blue while the top half and sleeves were white.

The colour palette remained the same blue, green, white and light blue. The use of the gradient was scaled back and lessened to great effect. The gradient of green was only used in a thinner band that split the bottom blue and top white areas of the jersey. Gradient coloured bands were also used on the sleeve ends and the collar. This was true to the established branding but was a more minimalist, "cleaner" look.

The main sponsors were largely kept to the chest part of the jersey effectively rendered in blues and black against a white background. Sponsors names were also duplicated on the shoulders, sleeves and side panels. The bottom half of the jersey was kept free of text and clutter.

This simplistic design worked very well to give the kit a polished feel. With the large colourful gradient panels being replaced with flat colour sections the design felt less cluttered and fresh.
